Yosemite National Park

With only two weeks' time in the USA (which was all our travel health insurance allowed), there was no time to relax, and so we immediately headed out early the next day from Fresno, where we had spent the night, to Yosemite Park. Since we were right in the peak season and it was also the 4th of July weekend, access to the park was only possible through a pre-booked time slot via the South Entrance. We indeed had to search a bit longer for a parking spot, but surprisingly, it became very quiet as soon as you simply walked a little. The valley with its various rock formations, the water, and the lush greenery was really beautiful, and one could easily spend days in this stunning park. However, for us, in the afternoon, we continued along Tioga Road past Tenaya Lake, where Marike took one of the most refreshing baths of her life, to Mono Lake and then on to Lake Tahoe, where we spent the evening in a nice beer garden with mediocre beer (when it comes to beer, we are just home-loving German potatoes).
