from Bonn via Wiesbaden to Alsace

The first day took me initially to Wiesbaden, where my sister Birgit and her husband Adem live. A small lunch and the exchange of news was a welcome break on my first day of travel.

In the afternoon, I then went through the Palatinate into Alsace, more specifically to Haut-Koenigsbourg, a hotel high above the Alsatian vineyards.

To my surprise, it turned out that I was the ONLY guest in this rather large hotel. The season seemed to be coming to an end for this place. Consequently, the restaurant had long since closed. So off to bed without dinner - that's fine too...
