Goodbye Spain...

In the last few weeks, we have steadily traveled north with our friends Lara and Björn. We spent the major blackout comfortably at the Secret Seeds Farm near Cord, which offers a pitch under olive trees for families. There are organic vegetable boxes and seeds available for purchase, and they have 880 different varieties of tomatoes in their repertoire. When the electricity comes back on after ten hours in the evening, we are all relieved. 

Located in the hinterland near Loret 'de Mar, we enjoy a free pitch offered by the municipality with our friends. Next door is a workshop, and we ask if it is possible to get four new tires for our truck here because ours are old and many of the treads are missing. Since we (of course) have a special size, the tires cannot be ordered through the dealer, but we find the right ones online at a company in Madrid, which is about 500 km away. We give our workshop as the delivery address. We naturally have to pay (1300 Euros) in advance.  The waiting begins, and the nightmare days too. With us at the site are Bulgarian families with many children who behave impossibly. It is extremely loud day and night, and new people from the group arrive daily. They leave mess everywhere, scream around, and loud music plays all day and night.  A nice Spaniard calls the police, but when they arrive, it is quiet at the site, and so they cannot do anything. Normally, we would flee from such a place immediately, but we have to wait for our tires, which should have arrived long ago. What was originally two days of delivery time has now turned into a week.  Our friends Björn and Lara have moved on as they have appointments in Germany and the road is still long. We cancel the order and have to wait two more days until our money is back in the account before we can finally escape this terrible spot in a hurry. 

We try our luck again two villages further, and behold... tires ordered, they arrived the next day, and one day later our truck has new tires. The installation cost a whopping 44 Euros! 

Now we’re also heading north and leave our beloved Spain the next day. 

At our first stop in Gruissan, we meet Christoph and Pitta, who we got to know three years ago in Motril. It is a nice reunion, and we thoroughly enjoy the place with its thousands of sailing boats, floating houses, a lovely old town, and good company. But for us, France is just a transit country as we want to go to Switzerland to see friends and then home to Lake Constance, so we continue heading north daily. Family and friends, we are coming, and we can't wait to see you all again soon 😊
