Good morning from Kärrasands Camping!

The night was incredibly restorative, as everyone had some catching up to do. But immediately after waking, the stress in my head began. Since we had only noticed additional toilet facilities in the reception area during our inspection yesterday, it was clear by now that we would have to compete with the other campers. I charged into battle as the first one. Given the time, I thought one of the two toilets would surely be available. But I was mistaken. Various competitors were already loitering near the entrance, waiting for their chance. In this serious moment, I decided to disregard all conventions. As the door of the accessible toilet opened and a woman with a child left the room, my flip-flops dug into the softened ground like spikes, and I dashed past Helmut, Dietmar, and Horst into the restroom.

For the subsequent grooming of my main hair, I switched to the originally targeted area, where the two showers were located. A Viking with the same hairstyle and I shaved in sync, while I kept one eye on the entrance door and the other on the access to the two showers. The situation was still relaxed. As I finished shaving the last few hairs, I took my first steps into the shower area. Now I was finally safe. And again, the showers looked different at each site, but they all worked excellently, including hot water.

Back at the Bullet-Proof block, the cheerful operator of the coffee machine greeted me with one of his products in hand. I thanked him enthusiastically and gave him a few tips for his fight for the top spots.

While I enjoyed the excellent coffee in the sun, Ronny or Maik from Bernau (I had already noticed this license plate near my home the previous day) confronted a younger father regarding the disposal of grey water. “It says so on the sign, boy.” At that last word, I wouldn’t have remained as calm as I had 24 hours prior. “This doesn’t exist. Camping and then this…” this Brandenburg specimen babbled on, and his lovely wife (I just assumed) asked, “what are you getting all worked up about now?” The gentleman in the Camp David tracksuit and the nylon from the Spartakiad 1976 (for those from the West: T-shirts used to be called that in the GDR): “Yeah, no. I don’t feel like discussing.” Oh, really. Internally, I was already ready to jump in and help the very kind-looking dad. However, he diffused the situation about as calmly as I had handled the question about the musicians the previous morning.

Since check-out at this site had to occur by 11 am, we were forced to speed up the dismantling process today. On time, with a four-minute delay, the boss steered the vehicle off the site and onto the road. Today we wanted to head towards or directly to Køge, where our acquaintance Martin lives. We planned to present him the musical products of our journey so far using our onboard PA system, hoping he would enjoy them as much as we did. Martin is a gifted singer whom I had “found” in a track by a Danish producer and contacted a few months ago. Whether our works resonated with him and whether Brazilian Danish women can whip up really good burgers along with the obligatory Danish remoulade, we would only find out tomorrow...

Shortly before Perstorp, our brains signaled “Hunger”. So the key word was food. As the food coordinator, I had a time window of exactly 4.3 km to present the Captain with a satisfactory offer. Kadir was in the mood for Asian, so typical Swedish food. Of course, I complied with the order, and he skillfully directed the colossal vehicle right in front of the JAJAH & AOD RESTAURANG shortly afterward. Inside, we were warmly welcomed and immediately registered that we had arrived precisely for the lunch buffet. Boom, I laid down the credit card and rushed to the small but very fine buffet. We were thrilled with these Swedish delicacies and ate to our hearts' content. Our enthusiasm grew even greater when, shortly before 2 pm and thus the end of the buffet time, three men walked in, who surely ranked high up in the Swedish BMI league. To top it off, we had a small ice cream, then we continued our journey towards Helsingborg.

The check-in for the ferry once again went smoothly. Particularly because Kadir had sensibly exited the vehicle this time to grab the ticket. Upon boarding the ferry, we finally recognized the size of our load, as we got to park among the trucks.

Upon arriving in Helsingør, we cruised for about 20 km along the coastal road and were constantly amazed by the beauty of this region. Well-kept properties, beautiful houses, no graffiti, and cyclists everywhere – with helmets, mind you. The driver skillfully navigated the Benz through the suburbs of Copenhagen, and we got closer to our destination.

At the marina in Greve, Kadir stopped our rolling home, and I immediately went to the harbor master to clear the formalities. My conversation with the gentleman was somewhere between Danish and German, sprinkled with English vocabulary. Consequently, I ended up unsure about what was supposed to happen next. This information only partially met the Captain's approval. However, as I had not disappointed him often in recent days, he maneuvered our matte green vehicle to the location I mentioned. I set off again to the harbor master, as I understood it, to inform him about our final location next to several boats. He assured me he would be there shortly.

On the 67-second return walk, I popped into a snack bar and asked for beer. The very friendly owner replied, “you will get whatever you want.” Okay, the good woman seemed to hold nothing back. I indicated to her that I was primarily okay with two to four cans of beer. However, she also casually mentioned that she offered whisky as well as burgers and French fries. The harbor master appeared as promised to switch on our electricity. Interestingly, he made the 67-second walk back by car.

At 6:37 pm, Martin showed up in front of our cabin. There was a big hello, as we had already gotten along splendidly during our meeting in Hamburg. We quickly decided to give the Brazilian Dane and her burgers a real shot. After our dinner, we withdrew to our music-mobile to play Martin the results of the last few days. As mentioned, more about this tomorrow...

Around 11:34 pm, the Captain opened yet another beer, which we nearly shared brotherly. I then, of course, took care of my oral hygiene. The onboard chef once again took on the evening washing up himself. Then we exchanged a kiss through the main hall and headed to our respective quarters.
