Hello dear travel friends!

My name is Ruth and I live in beautiful Hamburg with my two cats. I found my favorite second home here a few years ago, hence the cover photo. My passion is traveling and I love immersing myself in foreign countries and cultures. I also follow my preference professionally and work in the tourism industry.

Since I am currently allowed to be on the road for an exciting project despite Covid, I thought this is the right time to start my first travel blog and share my experiences.

I will be spending the next time in Uganda to work as a volunteer development worker for the Senior Expert Service (SES) in the field of tourism. If it works out, we might also get in touch through the comment function. I would be happy about that!

The name of my blog GoNe to is inspired by the movie "Gorillas in the Nebel" which impressed me a lot back then. The movie is set in Rwanda and since Uganda is now also known for its mountain gorillas, the name was born.

If I enjoy writing, I will also report on other trips here in the future. That's why gone to for 'visited'.
