It's travel day again and that means mainly one thing: time for Pølse. Our little tradition 😁

We're leaving the windy high plateau, but taking the wind with us. At times, our vehicle gets quite shaken up. Today we're heading to our highest point of the journey, destined for Trondheim.

As usual, I'm trying to document the drive a bit, but with the rain today, that's not so easy. We primarily drive through rather wooded areas and I enjoy the rain and fog. I think it makes everything feel so beautifully mystical.

We pass through well, and only in Trondheim itself does the traffic become denser.

This time, I chose a good parking spot, and it seems the trolls are favorable towards us as we find a place almost directly in the city center. This time, we manage to park without a ticket 😅

Let's go to the truly impressive Nidaros Cathedral. It's something special.

We continue to wander through the city, crossing the old town bridge, and quickly realize that Saturday was a poor choice for our outing. Not only does the weekend lead to crowded streets, but it seems there’s also some kind of event in the city. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly wonderful, but we didn't expect it and are quite overwhelmed by the hectic atmosphere. So we try to escape the hustle and bustle a bit and stroll around the edges of the center.

Shortly thereafter, we make another small attempt to wander and perhaps find some nice souvenirs. After a total of 2.5 hours in the city, though, we quickly have enough and, armed with coffee and cinnamon rolls, we head straight back to the car.

On one hand, we want to see everything, on the other hand, it gets to be too much quickly. The peak season has just ended, and it's far from being as crowded as it could be, we know that. How must it be when seemingly half the world is here? We drive with mixed feelings to our next campsite. Trondheim is definitely beautiful, and we couldn't appreciate it as much as it surely deserves. However, we both found it exciting to have a quick peek into this city.

Arriving at the site, the view directly at the fjord is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the weather remains rather unpleasant, so we settle for the view from inside out.

We use our evening to plan the route and our goals. And true camping spaghetti cannot be missed.

Tomorrow, the Atlantic Road is on the agenda, and Günni is so excited that he has to go to bed early. And I will be heading there now as well, looking forward to tomorrow's highlight.
