Welcome back: last stop before home

6:00 AM, the alarm is merciless, it's time to wake up. We slowly shuffle out of our bed and get ourselves fresh enough to appear in public, and then we’re off to the ferry terminal in Larvik. Coffee will only be available on the ferry, so I’m a bit out of sorts. But after a short wait, it’s done and we’re sitting in the ferry's restaurant, and off we go.

The journey takes about 4 hours, and I’m not really in the mood to take photos. There’s nothing exciting to see inside, and the rain is pouring down again today, so I prefer not to be outside too much. We spend our time having breakfast, strolling around the ferry, and I spend quite a while in the perfume section of the shop, but take none with me.

We are quite happy when we are back in our car; the noise on board is always like in a beehive, it buzzes around you constantly, so it’s nice to be just the two of us in the car again.

Now comes the lengthy part through Denmark, feeling like it’s always just straight ahead. Today is pretty busy, weekend traffic. But that too is accomplished, and soon we're back in Eckernförde; the circle closes as we spend one more night at the lovely campsite from the beginning of our vacation.

And to top it all off, we treat ourselves to a generous portion at the campsite's restaurant. We roll around the site a bit more and then head back to our camper.

One last time today we go to our cozy cave to sleep. One last time the fantastic view from the window right onto the sea. One last time falling asleep to the sound of the water. Tomorrow we go home, and then the final blog post will follow. Until then - good night and sweet dreams 🌙
