Who is writing here anyway? Mostly me, Natascha, the N in the name of this blog.

Those who know me a bit are aware of how much I love sleep. It's amazing that I managed to be ready in the camper van by 8:30 AM on a Sunday morning. Finally! Finally, we're off to the long-awaited vacation in Norway!

Our ferry leaves on Monday at 2 PM from Kiel to Oslo. We wanted to treat ourselves to a little cruise this time. Since we both didn't want to set off late on Monday night, we thought Sunday was the better alternative. But where to park and stay the night? There would have certainly been options within Kiel, but I believe that a campsite by the sea is a nicer start to the vacation. And lucky for us, we made that decision!

The journey was long.. very long. Nearly 650 km is plenty for a day. Overall, we were lucky - we spotted most of the traffic jams on the opposite lane. But we also faced repeated stop-and-go situations, construction sites, and detours. The usual stuff.

So we relaxed as much as possible and first found something for breakfast. Luckily, there was still a rest area that offered not only packaged sandwiches but also scrambled eggs and omelets. With fried potatoes. Yes, for breakfast 😁

With this boost, the distance, while still long, felt easier to tackle. Although I shouldn’t complain anyway. Günni (the G in this blog naming) absolutely did not want to give up the driver's seat. For that, he is now already snug and cozy in bed.

Gradually, the kilometers melted away, and we got closer to our goal. And then, all of a sudden, we saw the sea for the first time.

Suddenly, I'm happy. And I've arrived on vacation. Before heading to the cold north, we’re taking a bit of summer feeling with us. The sky is bright blue, the sea sparkles, we have the best parking spot I could wish for, and I can see from my bed over the dike directly into the infinite expanses. I hope it continues like this.

The only downside: the internet is so bad! Writing a blog, especially uploading pictures, is a bit of a test of patience... but I hope for the best. And while this takes its time, I'll just sit on the beach and enjoy the sound of the water 🥰
