Hiya,

The morning greeted us with a lovely sunrise and a good breakfast. Today we want to ride along the coast a bit... so hair styled (which doesn’t last long in this wind), shoes laced, backpack on, and off we go...

First stop: Spey Bay. Here is the Scottish Dolphin Center. Dolphins often frolic in Spey Bay, which can be easily seen from the shore. Unfortunately, Flipper and friends weren't in the mood today, so after a coffee and shortbread, we continued without dolphin therapy.

The next stop was a small coastal town named Findochty. A little beautiful harbor and a lovely beach. After wandering around a bit, we moved on to Portknockie. Here you can admire the Bow Fiddle Rock... an impressive rock formation off the coast. After thoroughly admiring the large stone and walking along the coast, we made our way to the next coastal town... to Cullen.

Here, you can marvel at the Cullen Viaduct. Built from 1884-1886, the viaduct served as a railway track for the Great North of Scotland Railway until 1968. It is about 187 meters long and the arches rise about 24 meters high.

Since we had unbelievably beautiful weather today, sunny, 17 degrees, and almost cloudless (for Scottish conditions), we strolled through Cullen, treated ourselves to a very delicious ice cream, and saw a quirky shop. It was like a stationary flea market... they sold everything: screws, toys, old kitchen utensils, books, statues, porcelain... I could go on forever... it was impressive :o))

From Cullen, we headed back towards Gardenstown, where we propped up our aching feet and let the evening wind down quietly.

Sweet dreams to you all and see you tomorrow.....
