A final day in Queenstown – and what a day it has been. New Zealand doesn’t say goodbye quietly, but with a finale that required strength, courage, and awe. Tomorrow begins the Australian part of the journey, but before looking forward, this day deserves its own place in the travel diary.

iFly Queenstown – Flying Without Wings

iFly is an indoor skydiving experience that simulates the free fall of a real parachute jump – but without an airplane, without risk, and without diving from thousands of meters above. A vertical glass wind tunnel creates a strong, steady airflow that supports the body. You float, spin, balance, and with each attempt, you gain a little more confidence in your body’s tension and the feeling of truly flying.

At the beginning, an experienced instructor accompanies every movement, ensuring safety and showing how to use the air – instead of fighting against it. During the second and third flights, you become bolder. The body understands what the mind has yet to grasp: that flying is truly possible.

An intense, nearly weightless experience. Not a mandatory point of a trip – but a moment that leaves a deep impression, as it playfully reminds you of the limits of everyday life and rewards courage.

Farewell Dinner and a Small Shift in the Group

After the adrenaline rush, the emotional side of the day followed. The shared farewell dinner marked a real turning point. Of the originally 16 travelers, five are leaving the group to return home – different countries, different stories, yet connected for 10 days through shared paths and experiences.

With eleven people, we continue on to Australia. You can feel the change. A travel group is more than just a number; it shapes the mood, the conversations, the togetherness. Goodbyes are part of it, but they leave a small gap. At the same time, it creates space for something new – new dynamics, new impressions, a new continent.

A physical challenge in the morning: Rafting in True Wilderness

Before flying began, rafting was on the agenda – physically demanding, wild, wet, a true piece of New Zealand’s natural power. Every meter required concentration, teamwork, and muscle strength. In the end, there was exhaustion, but the good kind. The kind that says: I accomplished something beyond my everyday life.

Outlook: From Queenstown to Melbourne

Tomorrow at 11:20 AM, the transfer to the airport occurs.

The flight to Melbourne opens the next chapter of this extraordinary journey. New cities, new landscapes, new stories.

It’s remarkable how much has fit into ten days in New Zealand. A summary of the personal highlights will follow tomorrow – a kind of flashback to a country that is simultaneously powerful, gentle, and overwhelming.

Final Thought

This day was exhausting, exciting, moving, and fulfilling all at once. It was the perfect transition between two worlds – the mighty nature of New Zealand and the anticipation of the unknown in Australia.

The blog is meant to take along all those who cannot experience this journey live. Please feel free to share it. Because this adventure is extraordinary – and it deserves to be shared.
