A final, intense day in Queenstown is behind us – full of adrenaline, farewells, and special moments. Thus ends the New Zealand chapter. But tomorrow, the second part of my...

New Zealand was more than a journey. It was a feeling.
There are trips that you plan. And there are trips that happen to you.
New Zealand was the latter. And it became something that can no longer be described in just days or places, but in moments that have settled within me – deep, warm, sustainable.
And one thing is clear:
All of this was made possible by James.
Our CEO, who not only showed us his country but allowed us to feel it.
With an enthusiasm that was more contagious than any sunrise over the mountains.
With a passion that carried an entire group along without him ever having to speak it out loud.
He did not present New Zealand.
He brought us in.
He opened spaces – for wonder, for courage, for encounters, for feelings.
And that made all the difference.
1. The Tasman Sea – the moment the world shook me up
I stood there – on the edge of this wild, open, unpredictable Tasman Sea –
and suddenly it was no longer just water.
It was a force. A truth. A reminder of
how small we are and how great life can be if we allow it.
The wind, the roar, the taste of salt in the air.
All of that felt like a personal invitation:
To be awake. To be real.
It was a moment that sorted me out inside, without asking me.
A moment that stays.
2. Doubtful Sound – a day that realigned my heart
When I think of Doubtful Sound, I first feel this silence.
A silence that is not empty, but full.
Full of history, of nature, of all the things that are greater than us.
The mountains stood there like ancient witnesses,
the mist hovered like a breath over the water,
and I was right in the middle –
small, but fully present.
Doubtful Sound touched me at a place I rarely show.
It was not an adventure.
It was a realization.
A clear, warm, deep realization:
Sometimes you just have to be quiet so something can speak within you.
3. Ena – an encounter that was not a coincidence
Then came Ena.
A man I did not know before, yet it felt like
I was speaking with someone my heart has known for a long time.
It was not an ordinary travel encounter.
It was a moment that surprised me –
and at the same time was so familiar that it almost hurt.
Ena reminded me of a family member,
someone who was important to me and still is.
The way he spoke, how he listened, how he was –
that touched me deeply.
Such encounters do not happen often in life.
It was a gift.
A small piece of humanity that has written itself into my heart.
What remains – and why all this was possible
When I put all this together –
the untamed Tasman Sea,
the honest silence of Doubtful Sound,
the encounter with Ena that still touches me today –
then a red thread runs through:
James gifted us this experience.
He did not only show us a country,
he gave us access –
to feelings, to adventures, to the people, to ourselves.
With his energy, his warmth, and his pride for New Zealand
he carried us along, lifted us, and continuously brought us to awe.
Without him, this journey would have been a tour.
With him, it became an experience that changed us all.
New Zealand – you remain
I do not take this country with me as a memory,
but as a feeling.
A feeling of clarity.
Of gratitude.
Of freedom.
Of connection.
And when I look back someday,
I will see exactly these moments –
at the Tasman Sea,
in the silent heart of Doubtful Sound,
in the conversation with Ena,
and in the excitement of a CEO who showed us
that a country can have a heart –
and that you can feel it if you are ready.
New Zealand, you were greater than your landscapes.
And I will never forget you.
