Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory of Australia.

The Litchfield National Park is named after Henry Litchfield, who explored the area in 1864 and discovered four waterfalls, termite mounds, eucalyptus trees, and various species of kangaroos and wallabies.

Kangaroos are significantly larger, with the agile wallaby being one of the largest wallabies, found in both Australia and New Guinea. Wallabies are more compact and found in wooded areas; they are bush grazers. Kangaroos have long legs for long jumps in open fields. They feed on grass of the savanna.

The Wangi Falls are easily accessible from Darwin and are located west in a lush monsoon rainforest. Here, flying foxes hang, which are much larger than bats, have sight and smell senses instead of echolocation, and eat fruits instead of insects.

James Cook landed in Cooktown in 1770. It was founded in 1873 and is the northernmost town on the east coast of Australia.

While exploring the coastline, Endeavour unexpectedly encountered a reef; Cook ordered all the guns and the entire ballast to be thrown overboard, and the pumps to be put into action. The river that served as his harbor was named Endeavour River.

The Black Mountain National Park is located southwest of Cooktown, and its mountains are made of gray granite that have darkened due to the growth of blue-green algae.

The Kuranda National Park has been a World Heritage Site since 1988 and is located 20 km north of Cairns.

The Kuranda Scenic Railway was completed in 1891 and claimed 23 lives in its construction. The railway connects Kuranda with Cairns across Australia's Queensland. The route is 37 km long, winding through 15 tunnels and 37 bridges.

The Kuranda National Park boasts a rich variety of species and serves as a habitat for numerous endangered animal species.

For example, the cassowary is the second-largest living bird in the world. They can grow up to 1.70 m tall and weigh 70 kg. The name comes from a large horn-like structure on their head, probably for protection when the animals brush through undergrowth.

The Townsville Billabong Sanctuary covers about 11 km and provides shelter and care for many animals. The billabong, or lake, is located in the middle of the terrain and is a true habitat for crocodiles and freshwater turtles.

The Tawny Frogmouth is typical of Australia/New Zealand. It has a 40 cm wide beak and is thus referred to as a frogmouth. It does not belong to the owls but to the frogmouths.

Snakes are also part of it. In Australia, seven of the ten most poisonous snakes in the world live.
