First days in LA
So, in the meantime we have somewhat settled in - still not completely 'digested' the jetlag, but we had expected it to be worse 😉 The journey went - apart from a 4-hour delay...

The weather has been really good to us so far; occasionally it's a bit 'foggy' in the mornings, but then the sun always shines from the bright blue sky 🌞
My personal favorite trip (so far) took us to Santa Monica and the world-famous Muscle Beach 😎 After we first checked out the Santa Monica Pier (including a sea lion in the water), I was eager to rent bikes and ride down to Venice Beach. Fortunately, there were two kids' lowriders and even a bike with a child seat for Lenny 😉 (He actually wanted to ride himself, but it would have been a bit too far 😅) And so we cruised along the bike path on the beach in beautiful weather, the boys barely overused the bike bell.. 🫣😂 (P.S. Unfortunately, there were no 'magnificent specimens' to see and photograph at Muscle Beach on the way back - probably too early for that 😂)
Next came Reto's highlight so far: A ride with Finn in a Waymo - a self-driving car. You can just order them like a taxi here in LA and SF - crazy! 🤠 (There will definitely be an Insta post about this 😉)
The next day we continued to San Diego, making a stop at Legoland - the boys' highlight so far 😉 We adults found the Mini-USA made of Lego spectacular, but the attractions are more geared towards the kids and only elicited a weary smile from us Europapark enthusiasts 😜
Very tired, we arrived in the evening at our second AirBnB accommodation, which even has a garden with a BBQ grill 😃 (But otherwise, unfortunately, there’s still no improvement in terms of food; especially Robin doesn't like a lot of things and finds the American bread 'very creepy' (agreed!) 😉 We’re still hoping for a 'familiarity effect', otherwise he’ll just have to survive this vacation on cucumbers, carrots, strawberries, and plain pasta.. 😬)
