My hiking tour to Toubkal started in Imlil – over 4,000 meters high, the highest mountain in North Africa. Here, at 1,600 meters, I want to acclimatize to the altitude. It is still very uncertain who I will start the tour with. The agency sends vague messages on WhatsApp. First pay, then there will be more information. But I want to trust anyway. I realize how accustomed I am to structures that first offer trust, not demand it. I found them in Marrakech - consciously not booked online. Hoping my money would then arrive where it is needed.
Imlil is prepared for hikers. Especially for beginners like me. Sleeping bags, hiking poles, gloves, backpacks - we can borrow everything. We don't have to buy. I have almost everything with me.
