After Stewart Island, we headed to the Catlins, a region on the east coast, and spent two nights at a campsite in Kaka Point. There, we visited the Kaka Point Lighthouse, and we...

On Friday, after we returned, I watched the sunrise at the beach with Franja, and afterward we went to the Blue Springs where it was still relatively empty because it was so early. It was beautiful, the water was so clear everywhere that you could see the bottom. In the evening, we were at Holly's. The next morning I was with Anja in a lovely café in Papamoa where we had breakfast. Later, we went to the beach and then to Polar, a very good ice cream shop. In the evening, we met up with Holly and a couple of Holly's friends at 'The Island', a restaurant/bar with billiards and darts. It was very nice. On Monday, the Holiday Program started for two weeks, and it was quite warm on some days, so we painted with chalk with the kids who weren't riding at that moment.
On Tuesday afternoon at Holly's, it was Hay Day, where all the hay from the fields is stored, which was very fun but afterward you had hay everywhere, even in your lungs.😅
Before that, we were allowed to ride at Holly's, and later we all went to the pool and had something to drink. On Thursday, we went to the cinema to see 'We Live in Time', a very good movie.
On Friday, Holly discovered baby wild rabbits in the riding arena, who were incredibly young and soaked from the sprinklers in the arena. We took the rabbits in with us, and Holly brought us her rabbit hutch and goat milk powder for feeding. On the weekend, we had to get up early to feed them. On Sunday, we drove to Rotorua to the Skyline, where you had a very good view over Rotorua and there was a 'Rotovegas' sign, which was very funny.
In the second week, the rabbits had already made their first little hops and I went to the beach. On Saturday, I went to Hamilton to the zoo and in the evening we went to a small concert near the Mount.
On Monday, our next holidays began again, and we went very early to the Waitomo Caves and took a tour through the Ruakuri Cave, which was very impressive. We saw many glowworms and very interesting rock formations. In the afternoon, there was free mini-golf at the Mount, which is why I went there with Anja.
On Tuesday, Anja and I took a little trip to Hawke's Bay for two nights. In the evening we drove to Te Mata Peak to watch the sunset, which was super beautiful! The next day we went to Splash Planet, a 'water park,' and afterwards we explored Hastings. On Thursday, we visited the aquarium, where we saw little blue penguins for the first time :)
After that, we were in Napier and drove back to Tauranga in the afternoon.
A lot happened in January, and I got to see many new places in New Zealand😊
