In the first week of December, which was also our last full work week, it got very festive: During the morning tea, we had Lamingtons (very delicious, as long as you don't eat them too often ;)) and cookies, and even during the rides, we diligently wrote letters to Santa or decorated Christmas trees.
The weather was very summery and warm, so I spent a lot of time at the beach, and we also discovered a great ice cream shop. 😋
On Sunday, we were invited to Derek's for lunch, and we all made our own pizzas, which was really tasty!
The week after that, there were two make-up days for missed hours, and we were allowed to ride outside on the paddock. Santa got a bit too excited and bucked, so the next time I got to ride Chester, which was so much fun :)
Additionally, we had to do our last errands for the vacation that week, as we were set to leave for our road trip on the 16th. That was also very exciting! On the 14th, the weather was really nice, and we went to Taupo. It just happened to be Ironman there, which we didn't know, and that's why it was so crowded. We then drove to a small swimming spot, which required us to navigate a gravel road, and that was definitely nerve-wracking! I also took a quick swim and otherwise just enjoyed the nice weather :)
