Good morning from paradise! 🌅 Today we woke up to a view that looks like it came straight out of a Canada commercial – Kluane Lake shimmered outside our camper window like a huge...

Good morning, Teslin Lake! 🌅
At the parking lot by Teslin Lake, surrounded by breathtaking nature, we started our day with a true deluxe camper breakfast: lots of muesli, few fruits – after all, we have to set priorities – and a hot black tea that enticed even the sleepiest souls out of bed. ☕
Feeling recharged, we made our rolling vehicle roadworthy again and set off. First destination: Teslin.
The mission there: empty the tanks (not ours, but the camper's), refill fresh water and diesel – the full wellness program for our mobile home. 🚿⛽ Mission accomplished!
Afterward, we treated ourselves to a small detour to the local souvenir shop with a mini-museum. Afterwards, we actually wanted to immerse ourselves in some Yukon history at the Heritage Museum… but all we found was a sign blowing in the wind saying “Closed for Season.” Well, that’s too bad, as they say.
So, plan change and on to the big adventure of the day: The legendary Canol Road – Highway No. 6.
Or as we now call it: The 220 km long pothole course through the Canadian forest. And yes, they actually call it a “highway” here. 🤷♂️
Our mascot Ursula, a rainbow acrobat, sat on the dashboard and turned every pothole into an opportunity for a backflip. 🎪 At the same time, she was also responsible for wildlife observation – although she still needs some tutoring in that area. Today's haul: a zooming black something (probably an animal), a squirrel, and a freshly hunted moose that hunters were processing right by the roadside. Welcome to the wilderness!
After a good 160 kilometers of forest road wellness for our shock absorbers, we thought the day would end in front of a fallen tree. But hey – we have an SUV! 🌲💪 So, we quickly sought out an off-road path and deftly navigated around the obstacle.
We were rewarded with a scenery straight out of a postcard: postcard landscapes as far as the eye can see. Somewhere here between forests, rivers, lakes, and endless sky, we set up our camp by Lapie Lake.
Now there’s just one thing left open: We’re keeping our fingers crossed that a bear greets us next to the camper in the morning, waves friendly 🐻, and wishes us a nice day in Bear and Moose country. If not – we'll just have another black tea and head off to the next adventure.
