Day 3 – Bear Guardian, Fatbike Safari & Sandstorm Action 🚴♂️🌪️
Good morning from our cozy camper nest! 😴🚐 Our first night in the new home on wheels was simply bear-tastic – we slept so well that we almost overslept. But only almost. Today...

Good morning from paradise! 🌅 Today we woke up to a view that looks like it came straight out of a Canada commercial – Kluane Lake shimmered outside our camper window like a huge mirror of liquid silver. 😍✨
After a delightful camper breakfast with a lakeside view (5-star restaurant? Pah, we call it “Kitchen with a View” 🍳☕), we soon set off. But just a few kilometers in, we made a spontaneous stop – a little morning walk through the woods was on the agenda. 🌲🚶♂️
And lo and behold – suddenly there was a rustling in the underbrush, and tadaa!: A “wild traveling companion” appeared. A Spruce Grouse – a real spruce hen! 🐦 This Canadian original is quite relaxed. (Fun Fact: It’s also called “Fool Hen” because it often doesn’t even bother to run away. Charming! 😅)
Fresh from the woods and still slightly thrilled from the chicken highlight, we headed back towards Haines Junction, as our goal for today was ambitious: to get near Teslin. 🗺️
Our GPS had only one very clear opinion on that: “Drive 333 kilometers straight ahead.” 🛣️ – in other words: “Press Play, lean back and enjoy the view!” And that’s exactly what we did – singing through landscapes that looked like someone painted them just for a Canada documentary. 🎶🍁
After this XXL leg, we finally reached a cozy parking spot just before Teslin, where we opened our little camper restaurant and whipped up a delicious dinner. 🍲🌄 Now we lie full, tired, and happy in bed, ready to drift off to dreamland – hopefully without GPS, or else it will mean “333 km straight ahead”… 😴💤
