Good morning from our cozy camper nest! 😴🚐 Our first night in the new home on wheels was simply bear-tastic – we slept so well that we almost overslept. But only almost.
Today was all about the very first breakfast in the camper – and let's just say it was a bit like camping cooking in a tiny house. 🍳☕ But hey, nothing tastes better than muesli with a view and the smell of tea in the woods!
Feeling refreshed, we embarked on a little digestive walk – about 40 minutes through the forest. Ursula took on the highly professional role of Head Bear Officer 🐻🔭 (“I swear, something moved!”), while we were mostly busy admiring how beautiful Canada is. 🌲🍂
At exactly noon, it was time to say goodbye – the campground didn’t want to host us any longer (probably because we ate too many cookies 🍪). So on to the next highlight: a wildlife center very close by.
And now comes the fun part: We rented fatbikes there – those bikes with tires as thick as car tires – and went on a safari with them. 🦌🚴♀️ Among moose, bison, deer, mountain goats, and foxes, we felt almost like we were in a scene from “The Lion King – Canada Edition.”
After that, we hit the road again, about 2.5 hours through Canada’s picture-perfect landscape. 🏞️ The path led us over Haines Junction (gas stop! ⛽) to Kluane Lake, where we set up camp right by the lakeshore – with a view that should actually be sold as a postcard. 📸✨
On the way, things got exciting: Sandstorm! 🌪️
Okay, it was more of a “little sand breeze,” but for us, it felt like an expedition through the desert for a short moment. Several photo stops later, we arrived at our destination dusty, happy, and with a memory card full of Canada magic.
