Color enthusiasts,

today you'll definitely get your fill, as the images in this post are magnificent, ranging from lush greens to vibrant pinks.

After having so much fun with Sage and Wobit the day before, we agreed to meet the next day for the Treetop Walk. In Singapore, it gets especially warm in the midday and afternoon, so we decided to go early in the morning to avoid some of that heat.

So we set off at 8 in the morning and made our way through the beautiful trails in the forests around Singapore. The path was in excellent condition, and we were far from the only ones out early—there were also a few joggers training.

The special thing about this path is a super long suspension bridge that we could walk across, offering a great view of the city and the treetops around us.

As you can see in the photo, the sun had already started to shine, and although we left early, we ended up sweating quite a bit. The tour lasted about 3.5 hours, and along the way, we encountered some amazing wildlife. This included a giant millipede and a troop of monkeys lounging by the roadside, observing the hikers just as they were being watched in return. The difference here was that the monkeys were chilling without smartphones and didn't take any photos of us. Among all the animal encounters during my trip, I must say that I always had the greatest respect for monkeys, which sometimes even mixed with a hint of fear.

After the tour, we headed back to the hostel to shower and take a quick nap before I met Sage for coffee. A former colleague from Hobbiton came from Singapore and told me about some of the trendiest cafés I must try, so Sage and I walked to one of those places. However, we didn't want to wait 20 minutes for a table and also realized that we preferred an unconventional coffee with lots of milk and extra syrup rather than a fancy brewed filter coffee from a ceramic filter. So we walked to the nearby campus of the LASALLE College of the Arts and got ourselves a sweet coffee from the integrated café, then found out that there was an exhibition on campus and the students were hosting a free festival. We sat down with our coffee and enjoyed some great music for several hours until we got hungry and walked to the Hawker Center to have a delicious meal.

The food was great, and afterwards, we met Wobit in the Gardens by the Bay to watch the light show and explore the gardens a bit. Since the show is best viewed from the right angle, we all lay down on the ground and felt the warm asphalt against our backs while looking at the lights and colors.

The program with the great music and the coordinated light spectacle was so good that we stayed for the second performance and even started a few photo projects while lying there on the ground, enjoying life.

And as we hadn't seen enough lights and colors yet, we walked further after the Gardens by the Bay show to check out the light show right in front of Marina Bay Sands as well. The internet said that this show should be best viewed from above, so we fought our way through the 3 buildings to the rooftop (of course, not without getting lost 3 times beforehand), made ourselves comfortable, and then watched the light show from there.

A colorful and wonderful day spent with 2 fantastic people and the luck of being in the right place at the right time in the right city. The next day I was back to exploring the rest of the city on my own.

More about that in the next post. Until then, sending warm regards from the gray Black Forest and have a wonderful day.
