Welcome,

or 'Good day' in Gadigal, the language of one of the Aboriginal tribes in Sydney. I am currently sitting in the hostel while it is thundering and raining outside, and I have been chatting with some of you and also watching the thunderstorm over the Opera House. After a long walk to Bondi Beach, I was pretty exhausted and definitely did not want to leave the hostel again.

In contrast to the thunderstorm outside, we had perfect weather when we visited the Blue Spring near Cambridge. This site was closed for quite a while because the path was damaged (partly still is and repairs are ongoing) and partly because tourists misbehaved and swam in this crystal-clear water. This is prohibited here, as the water is directly channeled into the water supply and it is a sacred site for the Maori people.

We were four people and you can already see the crystal-clear water in the background of our group photo. It was simply absolutely fantastic to see the water so crystal-clear and to be able to perfectly recognize everything underwater.

The actual path to the springs is not particularly long, and currently, only a section of the entire path is open, as the rest is still under construction. It was quite a warm day and we definitely had fun.

After the little walk, we then went for lunch and coffee at the Lillipad Café in Cambridge and talked about life in general. The day was super cozy and compared to all my other outings, it was really not a big activity, especially since I didn't drive myself this time, but we carpooled and for once I was not the driver.

Since this whole day was so nice, I don't have much more to share and you will have to wait for the next post. . .
