I have never seen so many locks in one day

Goodbye to the cycling group from Grevenbroich in the morning; I have private accommodations for the next four nights and a rest day the day after tomorrow, so we won't see each other anymore. After that, a short ride through Epinal in splendid sunshine. Your good wishes and the fingers crossed regarding the weather have helped.

After that, back to the Canal des Vosges, which I follow for the next 65 km. First about 20 locks stair-stepping upwards, then nearly 50 locks descending until the canal merges with the Saône.

After that, I follow the Saône, which has also been made navigable here by sluices and locks, until I reach Jussey.

Shopping for dinner and then off to my little cabin, in the middle of nowhere. Baguette, cheese, olives and Côte du Rhône with a view of nature. That's how life can be.
