On our way to Angers, we spent a few days in Azay-le-Rideau, a small charming village blessed with its water castle and a small selection of good bars and restaurants, including one with a Michelin star. The entire Loire/Indre department is sprinkled with castles around the city of Tours. The shady campsite in Azay is located right by the cozy little river Indre and only a few minutes' walk from the town center. Even in such a small village, there is a well-stocked BioCoop for the locals (similar to the French Basic or Vollcorner).
