Modern Angers

As the last stop before the Atlantic/ La Rochelle, we have chosen Angers on the Maine River. It turns out to be a charming, lively university town with a high recreational value. Young people gather on the banks of the Maine or by the centrally located Lac de Maine, sitting together in large groups on the grass and in good spirits. The city geniusly combines old and new. The streets are clean, everything seems newly laid out, many residential buildings are modern and of high quality. A highlight: The medieval fortress houses the impressive over 100-meter-long 'Tapestry of the Apocalypse' from the 14th century, which is also very well displayed.
