Our journey continues and we leave Monteverde. The drive takes us over three hours. Everyone would have liked to stay one more day at Hotel Montaña. The breakfast here is also very delicious, especially the coffee. Just before departure, all water bottles are filled up again. In most accommodations, tap water is drinkable, but it is usually chlorinated, or you can taste the minerals, especially in regions with volcanoes. On the bus, there is again time to catch up on sleep, listen to music, read, or snack. We take a short bathroom break at a kind of rest stop. We are on Costa Rica's connecting road to Panama and Nicaragua. We take a break in another way, as we discover beautiful macaws sitting in a water apple tree. They are easy to observe and fly around the trees.
Our next stop is in Liberia. The city is located in the northwest of the country and is the capital of the province of Guanacaste. We stop here at a supermarket and of course buy local snacks, share them, as well as cold drinks. The drive continues. The landscape has changed dramatically.
