The child in you must...
The child in you doesn't have to do anything at all. Sometimes, it wants to do things, and sometimes it’s just the right day for it, especially since you have a long road trip...

Oh, what a sentimental line of song lyrics for this post, which also talks about a ferry ride. But what can I say, I felt about that sentimental on the same ferry.
Our plans to send off the bachelor in Wellington with a party night fell through because we need to be at the ferry terminal by 07:00. We are all tired, and I am especially emotional, 'why??' I ask myself again. And even though you don’t always have to answer such questions, it comforts me when I realize that today is once again a day where I think: 'I made it, I am really here!' Whether it’s because of the tiredness or the fact that we are now crossing over to the South Island - I don't know, maybe it’s the combination of both. In any case, I can’t take my eyes off the rising sun, the blue water, the changing scenery. I have a long conversation with a couple who live on the North Island and are vacationing in the south, ask several people for photos, and stand breathless at the railing because sometimes the world is just too beautiful to bear.
Upon arriving in Picton, we wait a long time for our two new participants, and now we are an all-women group. After it's clear that the office has given us different meeting points, we find the two and first do a little wine tasting together, a wonderful start to a new chapter.
After that, we head to Nelson, where we cook dinner together and then I enjoy the sunset at New Zealand's central point with another participant - and I actually feel much more centered than at the beginning of the day. Yet another sentimental saying! But, that can happen...
Hello, you beautiful South Island!
