Dancing on the ferry!

Published: 02.03.2025

Another long travel day is ahead (from Kaikoura to Picton, and then back to Wellington by ferry). My head is pounding after a short night despite the paracetamol, and I just want to cry. Today, I miss my curly cuddle partner, who unfortunately got off in Christchurch. The fact about traveling in a group is: You may be among people, but that doesn't automatically mean you aren't alone.

However, the day is being kind to me. What helps and allows me to forget the pain for a moment is:

  • Watching sea lions (Honestly, the videos are a thousand times cuter, and reality... ah)
  • Dancing on the ferry (Does that one guy on deck think I’m crazy? Oh no, he’s dancing too, just while sitting... so I keep going)
  • A ride on the historic mountain railway in Queenstown (really sweet and a hidden gem)
  • The spontaneous idea to go for a Thai massage because of the pain (I book 60 minutes and get almost 90 minutes because I'm so tense. She scolds me for not going for massages more often. I happily accept this directive)

Honestly, I don't want to share too much whining. Or not just that. That's why I'm also sharing my playlist of the day. If you, the reader, want to dance away any pain for an hour, even if it's not on the ferry: https://t1p.de/dancingontheferry
