Day 13: Everglades with the airboat and sunflower boat

Today we have a trip planned with an airboat and a sunflower boat.

On the way there, we stop for breakfast and end up in a Mexican supermarket with giant ginger, sweet potatoes, and enormous pieces of meat.

We quickly make a stop at another supermarket.

The airboat is an attraction in itself. It reminds me of the movie The Rescuers. We are surprised that we don't have to wear seatbelts. We zoom through the mangrove forests, spotting crocodiles and ibises. There is also a small zoo with a demonstration featuring Charlie the crocodile. We can hold a small crocodile. It’s special to feel that leathery skin. We also feed some crocodiles and admire the beautiful tigers. While waiting for the 🌻boat, we have a card game competition. You can probably guess who the winner is....

The boat with elderly people from New York and 5 Dutch people takes us from Everglade City to Everglades National Park. Ten Thousand Islands with mangrove forests, many pelicans, and dolphins. It’s fantastic to see them swimming around the boat, and when we speed up, one of them starts to jump. Super beautiful.
