Day 8: Swimming with Manatees

At 7:30 AM, we are expected at the manatee diving center. At 6 AM, we have breakfast with an automatic pancake maker. Delicious.

We put on our wetsuits, watch the instructional video, and then take a shuttle to the boat. After a quarter of an hour of sailing, we enter the water and then those massive sea cows swim right beneath us, a mother with a calf. At another spot, they come very close, and you have to move a bit to the side to avoid touching them. It's a special experience. As we sail back, it’s quite windy.

Back at the car, we drive through St. Petersburg to the Rumfish Beach Resort.

There, we take a refreshing dip in the pool and relax for a while. Then we hop into the jacuzzi, which is super warm.
