Glacier Part 2 (wrong turn), Norway Day 20

For breakfast, we drove a short distance up the Sognefjellvegen to Krossbu,

and then intended to embark on a small round hike to the Bøverbreen glacier.

Intended! We first started following the hiking trail and blindly trusted the initial assessment of the hiking guide (Bernd). However, if he chooses the wrong ascent, one must be prepared for whatever comes next 😊.

And what came was a very impressive ascent over snowfields and glacier moraines

to the Leirbreen glacier. At the summit (1678 m) the wind was quite strong, so we wrapped ourselves up like Sherpas to brave the cold despite the bright sunshine.

After the descent, we continued on the Sognefjellvegen and Tindevegen towards Ardalsfjorden to our campsite (https://park4night.com/de/place/25200).
