Today, I conducted several self-experiments that are not scientifically supported or validated, observed by witnesses who would gladly confirm them. These would be the wind, the sun, the clouds, and even a rainbow. But now, let's talk about the self-experiments that were sometimes quite difficult today. I have come to realize once again that when urinating, one must either stand sideways to the wind or turned away from it; otherwise, quite literally, it goes in or on your pants. 😂
This is one of the silly thoughts that come to mind during the ride. Most I forget again, but these words stuck with me. I hope you can laugh about it and do not take it badly, even if it has nothing to do with the actual tour. Still, it's a task that is so simple for a man.
Today was the first day of the tour when it rained. Other than that, it had only rained in Tallinn on a no-traffic day. However, since I saw that the strong rain stopped after half past eight, I postponed my departure to later. In fact, the forecast proved to be accurate; it wasn't until the later afternoon that I encountered two showers. The first time I wanted to stand near a house where it was dry, and lo and behold, there was a small shop that was open, and I could buy something to drink. Since Poland does not recognize euros, I have to pay everything with a credit card; even those small amounts!
My tour today was organized by Komoot, and after a thorough review, I adopted it. There were several kilometers of routes that are difficult, like cobblestones, loose gravel, sand, and other things that slow you down significantly. However, I much prefer this to heavily trafficked federal roads, which stress me out and are dangerous.
Many of these routes are very scenic, and I've encountered animals more than once. For example, today, a squirrel jumped across the path only about 2 meters in front of me. Speaking of animals: I took some dogs for running training today; they can also bark and try to bite me in the calves. However, as my legs are always in motion, no one has been successful so far. 🙏 I only hope it’s not like that all over Poland.
Today, I encountered many churches, even more wayside crosses, and other 'holy sites.' Are the Poles that religious? After all, they recently had a Pope who was very popular.
After nearly 7 hours on the bike, I was glad to have reached my destination. I didn’t book until 45 kilometers before arriving because only then was I sure that the energy from the battery and myself would suffice to complete the rest. And in the end, I wonder where I still find the energy to write such a long daily report. ✍️
