Day 4 - Italy / Croatia (Pula & Draga)

Published: 30.07.2019

Tuesday morning, around 8 o'clock, we were lovingly awakened by Kai. The tents were quickly taken down, things were packed together, teeth were brushed, and then we went to the others. The delicious rolls from the previous day and the missing coffee made the start of the day perfect. Already at 10 o'clock, the thermometer showed a cozy 29 degrees, a high-five for the air conditioning, let's hope it doesn't let us down for the rest of the journey. The plan for the day was quickly determined despite eight people. We took care of the accommodation/camping site in the evening, while the others prepared the route. We were heading to Pula, a city 180 km away, which attracts a huge number of tourists every year with its beautiful old town.

Again today, there was something for everyone, no one goes empty-handed with us. After finally finding a parking space for our two buses, we had to exchange some money to feed the parking meter. We wandered around the beautiful streets of the old town a bit aimlessly before we unanimously decided to visit the Pula Amphitheater. The 7 € entrance fee was a bit expensive, but at least the sun did its best. After the visit, we all had a delicious burger and then made a short detour to the nearby church.

5 hours and countless shops later, it finally happened, Dustin found a shop where he could finally buy the long-awaited Adilettes. This turned into a small shopping tour for everyone, from socks to shoes to t-shirts. Kai and Dustin were hardly noticeable on the streets of Pula afterwards. While the guys enjoyed a final beer in this beautiful city, Emily accompanied me to a nearby hairdresser. In and zap it was my turn! World-class for only 8 €, absolutely satisfied.

Now we had to cover another 80 km to our evening quarters (Autocamp Drage / 4.5 stars). Once we arrived, the first group went shopping while the others set up our camp. Kai, the old grillmaster, put a smile on our faces again. It's amazing what a little grill mixed with years of experience can do. Feeling full and satisfied, we now head to the sea one more time before going to bed. Tomorrow our paths will separate and our main goal, Albania, is getting closer and closer.
