Day 11: Small sag

Today was really a rollercoaster. Although my alarm went off at half past eight, I was tired and pretty exhausted, so I went to the kitchen and asked if it was okay for me to sleep longer. Then I slept until quarter past ten.

Then today all four cabins had to be cleaned again, but I had help from the German couple and only had to clean two cabins.

For lunch, we had burgers with fries that we could customize ourselves.

After lunch, I actually wanted to quickly finish the last cabin, but Stani asked me if I wanted to go somewhere. Ingveldur nodded and the woman from Germany said she would finish the cabin. Within maybe a minute, it was settled without even asking, XD. So the two of us drove off in the SUV with a trailer. Here and there, Stani told me which country belonged to his family and that he was once in a choir. When we arrived in the city, I quickly realized where we were going. We parked in the parking lot of a lumberyard, where he bought wooden planks and nails for further cabin construction.

When we returned, we had waffles with cream, Nutella, and some kind of rhubarb sauce, but I didn't try it.

After that, I somehow had a slump. I actually just wanted to sit down on the bed for a moment, get my tablet, and read downstairs in the living room, but instead I stayed lying down, answered messages, and somehow did nothing.

Around half past six, I went downstairs to help with dinner. We had grilled, self-slaughtered pork and lamb, and three casserole dishes full of vegetables. Even for 14 people, it was still too much.

After dinner, I decided to go to Demon again to at least have done something during the day. I took a shortcut, but it somehow didn't lead up the mountain, only around it, and then I sat down on a slightly elevated stone on the back side of the mountain and enjoyed the view. Unfortunately, I lost track of time and only started walking back around half past ten. When I was almost at the front door, I saw the German couple driving towards me in the car. It was a bit embarrassing for me (more or less) that they had to leave to look for me. Well, we laughed about it in the end.

Actually, I wanted to go to bed at half past eleven. I had already changed and just wanted to get under the covers when I reached into something wet. Ingveldur had warned me that Jonas pees in the bed if you close the door so that he can't go in or out permanently, but my door had been open all day. But he still peed. So I had to go downstairs again and get new bed linen and a new blanket. It was half past twelve by the time I finally got into bed.
