1st day a turbulent start in Finland 12.5.2024✨

Our adventure began with a lot of chaos – and a little bit of magic.✨

We landed in Helsinki but immediately missed our connecting flight. Great. Instead of despairing, we spontaneously sneaked into the Christmas market. 🧑‍🎄🤭

Amid sparkling lights and fragrant treats, we enjoyed a mushroom soup and a kids' punch.

Surprisingly delicious, but it was freezing outside. Unfortunately, I only had my sports pants on (Thanks, luggage chaos!). Oops 🎒

Eventually, we made it to Rovaniemi – unfortunately with nasty ear pain. But hey, I’m still alive!

Upon arrival, we grabbed an Uber that brought us to our AirBnB accommodation. Surprise: it wasn't a whole apartment but a room in the hosts' living room. But they were so nice that we felt at home right away. There was even chocolate – and a super cute dog that welcomed us.🐕🐕

After a long, cold day, we crashed into bed dead tired. My first impression of Finland? Chaotic, frosty – and yet somehow enchanting.

Tomorrow we move on. Let’s see what this country has in store for us!
