How nice that the sun shone again today – the day starts off quite differently that way.

Today started early since the kindergarten opens at 7 a.m. By 7:10 a.m., the first parents were already arriving, and when I woke up at eight, I made a quick detour there. I found it truly wonderful how Victor and Stephanie manage the children – calm, clear, and loving. Later, the two of them took the little ones to the garden, and Mika and I watched a bit from the terrace – until it was time for lunch.

Afterwards, we set off to explore the area a little. We walked to the harbor, looked at some houses, had a small bite to eat – and then realized that we had actually seen everything. (There are incredibly beautiful wooden houses here)

When we returned, the kindergarten day was already drawing to a close. Perry had soccer practice, and Mika, Steph's brother, and I went along with Perry and Victor. However, Perry wasn't really in a soccer mood – he much preferred to ride his bike. So Victor, quite spontaneously, just quickly bought him a bike.

When it was unboxed here, we all considered whether a balance bike might actually be the better choice. So Mika, Victor, and I went out again to exchange the bike. The search for a suitable balance bike was a lot of fun – I really love getting to dive a little into family life.

In the evening, we then – much to Perry’s delight – built the new bike together. He already loves it and has been diligently pedaling around the apartment. To end the day, we took some farewell photos because tomorrow we continue to Halifax.

In between, I was quite sad – saying goodbye to the three of them is really hard for me. You know, I have really held them close to my heart. And I have never liked goodbyes.

But how nice that we have been here.

Insight of the day:

Connection often arises in the midst of everyday life, between breakfast, bike purchases, and children's laughter. Then it suddenly feels a bit like family.
