Border experiences 😉

The border crossing from Zimbabwe to Botswana is a small adventure in itself – consisting of four stations:

1. First, the cars drive through the disinfection bath, while we walk through it on foot.
2. Health check: show vaccination card and have our temperature measured.
3. Passport control – now we are officially allowed to enter Botswana.
4. And finally, the soles of our shoes are disinfected: please dip once. 😄

As soon as we are in the country, we see the first elephants from the bus. 🐘

Our lodge is located right by the Chobe River – and the warning notice in the hotel room makes it clear that we have truly arrived in Africa: Large crocodiles like to lie on the riverbank, warthogs and elephants occasionally stop by the reception, and at night, hippos graze on the lawn in front of the rooms. Please use a flashlight and keep your distance. 😳

However, you don't even have to leave the room to see the first wildlife.

In the garden, warthogs, mongooses, and monkeys roam together across the lawn. A snake briefly adds some excitement – and while having coffee, a crocodile can be spotted lounging by the Chobe riverbank. ☕️🐊

And if you look far across the river, you can actually see a whole herd of elephants. 🐘🐘🐘

I think we are officially on safari now. 😍
