Tanzania - Day 3: Manyara National Park

After a hearty breakfast including an egg dish, we set off at 8:30 AM.

First stop, Safari Land, also known as the tourist shop. A completely crazy Masai store with souvenirs up to $170,000 - no, I didn't miss a zero.

There were truly remarkable artworks from pictures to masks and wooden carvings, but also tourist knickknacks were offered.

Our driver took the 20-minute stop for coffee + breakfast, as his breakfast was reportedly not good.

Upon arriving at Manyara National Park, the roof was opened again, and the slightly warmer wind blew the hearts into our eyes.

Monkeys as far as the eye can see. From fully grown, adolescent males to what was likely a baby just a few days old, there was everything.
Shortly thereafter, three large cats - one lion and two lionesses - were sleeping in the sun with their bellies up, as you would expect. Regardless of whether it is a house cat or a lion, a cat remains a cat.

This national park is distinguished by its greenness, as many springs emerge there and there is a huge groundwater reservoir. Adjacent to this area is also a large lake, which allowed us to admire hippos, flamingos, storks, and buffalo.

The lunch, consisting of cold chicken, cold fries, banana, banana chips, and fruit juice was quite good, probably mainly due to the view over the national park and the lake.

Since this national park is the smallest of all, we headed back to the lodge, where we spent the time until dinner by the pool or in the gym.

At dinner, a diverse buffet awaited us with soup, salads, rice, veggie curry, rosemary chicken, and chocolate banana for dessert.

Tired and filled with fun and breathtaking images in our heads, we headed to the mosquito net cave.
