Feeling unwell
Last night I had chills and felt weak. Honestly, I would have preferred to stay in bed this morning. But I didn't want to linger the whole day. I packed everything slowly and...

So my thoughts were yesterday in the bakery. The dialect sounds quite lovely as well. Yesterday, the elevation profile reminded me of New Zealand's North Island. Constantly up and down. In the end, it was 84 km and 900 meters of elevation gain. I ran out of water, and the temperatures were quite hot. I went into a small cemetery. There was also a caregiver there. When I asked if I could fill my water bottle, she agreed and also offered that I could take water in the church or cool off a bit. That is real neighborly love. In the afternoon, I reached the campsite in Dinkelsbühl. A nice spot by the lake with swimming included. Wonderful. In the evening, I went into the old town even though I was quite exhausted. There was a state of emergency this weekend. The Children's Festival. The biggest celebration here. During the Thirty Years' War (according to legend), the children of Dinkelsbühl managed to fend off the Swedes. Many were dressed in traditional costumes, and it was nice to sit in front of a restaurant and watch the hustle and bustle. When it started to rain, I headed back.
Since I entered Melanie's address incorrectly in Komoot, what was supposed to be a 1-day tour turned into a 2-day tour 😂.
Today, not so nice bike paths. Especially the stretch from Nördlingen to Harburg is annoying. After 54 km, I sought shade at the edge of the path to rest. A glance at the weather showed me that there would be thunderstorms tonight and rain tomorrow morning. So I thought it was better to get accommodation. And what happens then? I confuse Mertingen with Meitingen and wonder why I still have to ride another 15 km.🤔 But it has to be done since I booked a hotel there. It’s a kind of highway hotel, but I'm pleasantly surprised. The infrastructure is great. I enjoyed delicious fish at the Italian restaurant along with a Pinot Grigio. I felt like the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood. And I’m quite worn out after 94 km. Especially my rear end is no longer my best friend.😅. Looking out the large window, I see a dark sky and lightning. Maybe I did the right thing after all?
