and a subsequent breakfast on the wall at the water's edge in the sun. Wonderful, this is how every day could start. We look at the route to leave the peninsula. One option is to take the road in the west, but according to pictures and Google Maps, it seems to be very winding and steep... so the same route back, and it's still a huge fun. <br /></p><p><br /></p><p>We urgently need water, and the first water source we drive to is dry, so we check Park4night and continue searching. The next spring is a few kilometers away, but the water is really delicious, and we fill our water tanks again. This makes you realize that you use more water than you think. We continue past a mountain and can already see that rocks fall off there occasionally... nobody needs that, and we drive on quickly. But why isn’t our Allpowers Powerbox charging? We have it connected to the cigarette lighter, but nothing is coming in. Freddy changes a fuse in the engine compartment. Not so simple. The designer should be sued. The cap that needs to be unscrewed is really poorly designed that you can't get it off without scratches. But one fuse was defective... unfortunately, nothing is happening. Herribert helps us with advice and action over the phone... wonderful that we have this option. Another fuse might still be defective... we will replace it, but only later. In the meantime, we continue to enjoy our “Drückekaffee”. The only problem is, it can’t go on like this for long because our ground coffee is slowly running low, and we do not have a grinder... our main supply is whole beans... but as they say, first let’s wait, everything will sort itself out.</p><p><br /></p><p>We drive through to Nafplio and Freddy has chosen a dream spot. On the mountain with a breathtaking view over Nafplio and the fortress. Amazing, especially in the evening... super beautiful. Once again, you realize why you do this. The approach is really steep, and the serpentine roads are also challenging. But Rex masters it brilliantly, and I'm not thinking about the descent yet. The fortress is so beautifully lit; it looks like lava flowing down the mountain. Wonderful. We pull out the chairs and enjoy the sun. You can already tell that it's a bit cooler on the mountain, and the wind is stronger... but we are campers and can handle it. The sun hides behind the horizon with a gigantic sunset, which is a sign to usher in the evening. I cook a mushroom sliced pan that will also last for the next day. <br /></p>

We are heading to the north of the Methana peninsula and find a parking spot right by the water. The next morning, we leave the island and search for a parking spot on a mountain with a view of Nafplio.

After breakfast, we will visit a church at the harbor... okay, it's not far, but it's really beautifully located. You can walk around the church and the property, and you are basically at the harbor entrance. Great... the wind is blowing, and we notice that due to the wind and the sound of the waves, communication is a bit restricted. On the way, Freddy encounters 6 geese who loudly make it clear that he is not welcome in their vicinity. Fortunately, the little nibbling attacks are only directed at our shoes. I kept a respectful distance because I know that geese can be quite unfriendly. Now it's back to the car... packing together and off we go to the north of the Methana peninsula. Traveling along narrow roads (but still wide enough) with sharp right and left turns to a church. We park in a lot in front of a wall, the blue sea just 5 meters away. Yes, this is how you park, and we enjoy it. Right at the spot is a restaurant, the Agiorgitikon, a sort of beach restaurant that hopefully is open today as well. According to the Internet, we’re welcome there... open...


Freddy is currently fishing, and I am baking 2 loaves of bread so that we will have breakfast tomorrow. The car smells wonderful because of the bread, and I am once again excited to see if it turns out as good as it smells now. The Nonna Aurelia, a camping oven, is bulky but does everything you expect... it is, after all, an oven.


The restaurant is not open in the evening. People are walking around there, but everything remains dark... what a shame... so we cook instead.
