Gythio Lighthouse

The morning begins as the evening ended. Rain...but a break in the rain is in sight around noon, so we wait for that. Freddy moves the car backward a bit, as I was really panicking at the thought of reversing it. Okay, I've probably watched too many YouTube fail videos and already imagined ending up in the water...now I don't need to waste any more thoughts on that...we're parked well.

Around noon, we put on our jackets and walk to the lighthouse, which is very visible. It's not nearly as far as it looks. We walk along the walkway by the quay and reach a parking lot and a restaurant. A bit further towards the lighthouse, we see a kind of castle/fortress that must certainly house the museum. But everything is closed, so we continue on to the lighthouse.

On the way there, we have to navigate around puddles and realize that thanks to the rain, we can actually take some really great reflection photos. Yes, we are very creative...but Freddy is the best at it. Several photos are taken that turned out really nice.

We can hear a slight rumble and can see the front heading our way. No matter...we can handle this. We walk back to a nearby bakery. Milk cake and brandy pastries are on our list, and we are looking forward to coffee and something crunchy. Okay, the brandy pastries are really delicious, very fatty, and a bit chewy...so quite good to eat. Unfortunately, the milk cake has to wait until tomorrow...

It's raining again, and we work while enjoying the view. Today we are staying here, and we want to move on early tomorrow, first shopping, and then about 7 km further to the beach with a shipwreck. We are really looking forward to that and hope to recharge our batteries...
