Tag 199 - River trip 'Trang An' and further south @ Hoang Thanh

Hello dear ones

Today we started the day in a relaxed manner at 9 am, packed everything, deposited our luggage at the reception, checked out and drove towards the starting point of the boat tour. On the way, we made a small stop to fly the drone. The landscape here is simply indescribably beautiful!

When we arrived at the boat tour, we were extremely lucky with the guests! There were only a few other visitors and we didn't have to wait a minute.

The boat trip was really nice! We crossed caves, admired the breathtaking scenery, and had the opportunity to visit temples three times. Describing all of this is really not easy... Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself ;).

However, we only saw the temples from the outside because we didn't expect that at all and we were not dressed appropriately. In order to enter a temple, knees and shoulders must be covered. If you enter anyway, it is one of the most disrespectful things you can do here. We really didn't want to do that. However, since the doors were open, we caught a glimpse of the interior. There are various huge statues completely made of gold! Very kitschy, but really lovingly designed.

After about two hours, we were back on land and got on the motorcycles. We ate something, picked up our luggage, and headed south! The destination for today was not far away, only a 1.5-hour drive (66 kilometers), but since we didn't start until 3:30 pm, it was enough. On the way, we got caught in a huge traffic jam! They have marked lanes here, but no one seems to take them seriously. Three vehicles were driving side by side on two lanes, and all the two-wheelers (including us) overtook wherever possible. On sidewalks, meadows, between cars - wherever there was enough space to drive. This way, we managed to only lose ten minutes in the traffic jam :).

When we arrived at the destination, we found that hardly any hotels are open. It doesn't seem to be a season here at all :).

Now we have found a hotel with probably 300 rooms and (as far as we can tell) we are the only guests! We have a top room with a sea view and only pay CHF 23.- for the night!

So folks, somehow we're completely exhausted from the day again and now we're enjoying a quiet evening :).
