I only have less than 100 days left on this beautiful island! It's unbelievable how quickly time flies by.
April, my eighth month here, went by really quickly - and with it, university. The last exam is on May 2nd, so my studies abroad will be more or less complete by the end of this month. I still have two courses that I'm taking at the university in Germersheim and my bachelor's thesis, but I have to admit that the amount of work I'm putting into it is currently close to zero. Oops.
This month was characterized by a lot of parties, soirées and evenings in bars, which was really lacking in the months before. That was good for me because I was constantly around people and had something planned and was out and about almost every day. My liver might not be so happy, but at least it had almost 4 months to recover from the first semester :D
My French is still a bit stagnant, or at least that's how it seems to me. However, I'm currently getting a lot of compliments on my good French, so maybe it's just that it's a bit more difficult to improve significantly these days. I think my pronunciation is my biggest shortcoming, so I'm currently trying to slow down my speaking speed and concentrate more on phonetics - let's hope that works :)
Something has changed in the shared flat, Carlotta is back in Germany and a Belgian (former) couple has moved in in her place, as they unfortunately couldn't find an apartment. They are only staying for a month and then they are moving on. They are both very nice, and I already knew the girl a little before. When the two of them move out at the end of May, I don't know who will come next. I'll wait and see.
Otherwise, I have the feeling that time will fly by now, as I'm already completely "planned" until mid-June, with the diving camp, Madagascar, Mauritius and the island crossing. But I'm really looking forward to the coming weeks and months. But slowly, my anticipation of Germany, my family, friends and Germi is growing - I think my choice of the length of my stay here was exactly right!
