Today we had a long drive to Tofino. We left Victoria early and stocked up a bit at Wal Mart before. On the way, we made a stop at Little Qualicum Falls near Parksville. This allowed us to stretch our legs a bit. The signs on the side of the road that told us we were entering grizzly bear territory were very reassuring - very nice! :D It immediately gave us a feeling of security on the circular hiking trail around the waterfalls...
The weather was still okay. No rain and not too cold. The circular trail around the waterfalls was very beautiful and didn't take too much time, so we still had plenty of time to drive to Tofino. Stretching our legs felt really good and we could continue our journey in good spirits.
The landscape on the drive was really beautiful to look at. We passed by various viewpoints that offered really nice views. We drove through wooded mountains, where we could see waterfalls plunging into the depths in the distance and passed by a roaring river. Unfortunately, it started to rain at some point and didn't stop for the rest of the journey. Sometimes it was so heavy that we didn't dare to get out of the car.
Fortunately, we arrived safely in Tofino, but the weather didn't get any better...
