Today we continued from Dilijan in Armenia to Tbilisi in Georgia.
With every kilometer towards Georgia, the surroundings became greener and more fertile.
The roads were filled with potholes and construction sites.
Occasionally, a manhole cover was missing or had sunk in. That's when I remembered why you shouldn't drive here in the dark.
Just before the border to Georgia, we exchanged our remaining DRAM for drinks and sweets and then drove to the border control. And what can I say, it was quick, uncomplicated, and we were already in Georgia. Either the Armenian border is not so well connected, or the stupid speed camera hasn't reported the offense yet. In any case, we escaped the clutches for now and felt safe. 😉
Then we took out a car insurance online behind the border and bought a SIM card for one month with unlimited data for about 11 euros. I'm always amazed at how uncomplicated things work here...
On the further drive towards Tbilisi, the surroundings changed from rugged mountains to rather flat and wide land, which was pleasant to drive through.
In Tbilisi, we checked into a nice and affordable hotel. The parking lot was assigned to us right in front of the door under a pomegranate tree. In the evening, we had delicious dinner around the corner. Tomorrow, we plan to explore the city of Tbilisi.
We covered 203km today, but it felt like 400.
Oh, by the way, there was a small defect too, the right windshield wiper arm folded. If it ever rains, I will fix it immediately. Promise.
