Dear Diary,
This morning, the crowing rooster woke me up. After getting up, I baked a fresh bread braid. Unfortunately, we didn't have a brush to spread the glaze, so an (unused) toothbrush had to be used as a substitute - thanks to Singapore Airlines. While the bread braid was in the oven, I took a quick shower. During that time, Marco was being fumigated in the living room by the gas oven. Apparently, the wax paper (Hawaiian baking paper) is not so heat-resistant...
Nevertheless, the bread braid and our breakfast were very delicious, and the fog has also cleared up again :-)
Once we arrived at Shipwreck Beach in Po'ipu, we parked the car and started walking along the beach. We walked over rocks and past a golf course. It was very beautiful. Then we took a break at Kawailoa Beach. Unfortunately, the weather got worse and as we walked to the next viewpoint, we got drenched once again (for the third time). Hiking and rain seem to go hand in hand. But we also saw another beautiful bay and steep rock formations.
On the way back, the sun dried us off a bit. Just before reaching the car, we almost got wet again. But this time we were lucky. It got dark on the way home because in Hawaii it gets dark at 6:00 p.m. We made another small shopping trip in Kapaa. In the loft, we cooked dinner (rice and sliced meat) and we had a visit from a geko. For dessert, we had ice cream with cream.
Now I'm tired and will go to sleep soon. Good night, dear diary.
