Hi guys

So, the bus ride was really exhausting... The passenger in front of us kept staring back at my laptop the whole time, which made me feel really uneasy. When my eyes started to droop, I packed everything into my backpack and held onto it tightly like a teddy bear. It was really uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep for more than 15 minutes at a time... But eventually, we actually reached Bangkok (at 4:30 am)! Kevin managed to sleep a little better, but still far from "good".

When the bus reached the destination, we were right in the middle of the city - and yet, in the middle of nowhere. We looked for a hotel nearby and walked about 10 minutes to get there. Of course, it didn't have a 24-hour reception and was closed. Both of us were really tired and stood in Bangkok completely clueless. By now, everything was crap and the mood was really "grrrrrr"... After a few more minutes of wandering around on foot, we decided to take a taxi to the nearest hotel. The taxi was really cheap! We paid only CHF 2.70 for a 10-minute ride. However, the hotel was very expensive... CHF 45.- for six hours... But we really needed the sleep and we also took advantage of the breakfast buffet.

More or less rested, we started towards our hotel today at 12 o'clock. We decided to treat ourselves to something really special since we are here. The winner: The 137 Pillars Suites & Residences. The hotel is one of the top 10 in Bangkok, simply because of its "infinity pool" that offers a fantastic view.

After an hour's drive (CHF 4.50), we reached the hotel and booked a night for CHF 150.-. We briefly considered treating ourselves to a suite for double the price, because only from there you have access to the amazing rooftop pool. But we decided against it, because the regular pool is really awesome too!

We quickly realized that we are in a really fancy hotel: Doors were held open everywhere, all the staff greeted us friendly and we were personally taken to our room, including instructions.

After a short smoking break, we made our way to the pool and......

Simply incredible! The view, the ambiance, everything! Hopefully the pictures turned out well, because words cannot describe it!

We enjoyed the pool for a while (which by the way is really cold), the amazing view, and two totally overpriced drinks each (yes, they had to be :)).

At around 6 p.m., we got ready and took a taxi to the "MBK Shopping Center". Once again, all imagination bounds are exceeded. The center had a proud seven floors and was simply huuuuuge! You can get anything here! From bikinis to the latest drone to fast eyebrow tattooing or plastic surgery. We spent at least two hours in the center without really buying anything :). In addition, there was a game arcade on the second top floor, where we had a lot of fun!

Right in front of the center, there was a night food market where we filled our stomachs with delicious goodies at a low price. We had spring rolls, chicken wings, and some rice with seafood - plus a cola and a mojito for only CHF 24.- :).

Afterwards, we continued to a bar where they played reggae music, served good drinks, and had a really great atmosphere.

We're still sitting here :).

Later, we'll treat ourselves to a swim with the fantastic view and go to bed early.

Tomorrow we have a full program again :).

Even though we're still not city people, we have to admit that we really enjoy our time here - not least because of the really good investment in the great hotel!

So, dear ones, the photos will follow on Wednesday, because that's when we'll travel to the Philippines and have more than enough time for it. It would be a shame to waste time here :)

Therefore: See you tomorrow and greetings from Bangkok ;)
