Travel day

Travel day. We were on the road by 10am, early to have some time at our new place, but later than any rush hour. The journey was uneventful. We stopped at a service that had a “picnic” sign, and were I litigious then I’d probably sue based on the triangle of scrubland between the gas tank and the petrol station. 

The last 10 miles included are vertigous ascent and descent on a narrow twisty turny road, that was probably advertised as two way, but we were not convinced. Jane was quite nervous all the way up, and then nervous again on the way down. Luckily we met just a single scooter on the road so did not have to find an answer to the question “how the f do we pass this car?”. Jane did comment that “there must be a flatter way to the site. Once at the site’s reception, the guy did laugh and confirm that there was a flat route out. 

The site is lovely, with large, flat pitches (100m2) and only about 50 pitches. Every site we have stayed at so far has set a different standard for what we want. Long may it continue.
