After last night’s rain, camp was a little damp so we set things out to dry in the morning sun. We had a cup of tea before heading out for the local village/town, Entrevaux. What a little gem. It was situated on the bend of the river with fortified walls up to the houses. Entry was over a drawbridge (now purely decorative) to bring us in to a town with medieval and newer (but not that new) buildings. We had a lovely stroll round, sat in a square to have a coffee, and were by all accounts nearly the only people there. To be precise, we saw a handful of locals - bonjour, bonjour - and a couple of tourists but otherwise it was quiet. What a little gem.
We were back at the van for lunch, Brie and salad in some baguette for me, egg salad with baguette for Jane. That’s probably more detail than you were after. We then spent the rest of the afternoon reading and watching the storm clouds coming towards us, but not quite delivering the threatened rain.
We are now just having a mild sensation and making tea.
