Day 2 & 3 in Seattle

Pubblicato: 07.11.2019

On my second day in Seattle, I had sights on the agenda that were a bit further away, so I bought a bus day ticket. My first stop was the southwest located Alki Beach. Normally you can see many seals and whales here, but unfortunately I looked in vain. But since the weather didn't disappoint me today either, at least I had a super clear view.

Afterwards I went to the Capitol Hill neighborhood, which is located on a hill, as the name suggests, and then visited the Japanese Garden.

I was particularly excited about the University of Washington, the individual buildings are very modern and the huge grounds almost seem magnificent with the countless green areas. Next to it is the Husky Stadium.

I saw the sunset on that day at Gas Works Park, which is located in the north of Lake Union, which allows you to look directly at the skyline of Seattle. In this park there is an old gasification plant.

On the third day of my trip, I had almost overcome my jet lag. The day started very foggy, so I had somewhat foggy visibility at my first stop in the south of Lake Union.

Afterwards, I climbed some hills and had already reached my goal of 10,000 steps by 11:30 am ;) I was rewarded once again at Kerry Park with a view of the skyline. By that time, the sun had chased away the clouds again.

I walked all the way down again and arrived in the Seattle Center neighborhood. It is known for the International Fountain, to which even music is played in rhythm, and the Space Needle, the landmark of the city of Seattle. I visited the latter in the evening.

Myrtle Edwards Park is located directly on the water and has countless beautiful beaches, just the right thing to escape the big city. On the way back to the Seattle Center, I made a detour to the Sculpture Park.

I enjoyed my last sunset in the USA at a height of 184 meters with a view of the skyline. After successfully putting aside my fear of heights for a few minutes, I stood on a glass floor through which I had a view all the way down...
