I open my eyes and see blue sky, sea and islands. Paradise, that's all I can say.
After a proper English breakfast at our accommodation, we walk 4 km to the beach in the military area. The beach is supposed to be particularly beautiful there. The bay bears the melodious name Ao Manao. On our way, we walk across the military airport runway. We keep thinking of Lost.
The beach is really beautiful! Lined with trees and palms, fine sand, clean water and no one around. Only on closer inspection do we see a few Thais sitting under the trees in the shade. With long clothes and RAIN JACKETS. I don't get it... We definitely have the water and the sunny parts of the beach to ourselves. Only a few Thai children dare to venture into the sun and water during the day. The adults try everything to not get a tan. We want the exact opposite, which results in Max having a subtle hint of red in the evening xD
In the evening we eat at the fish restaurant that was recommended to us. As is customary, we sit on plastic chairs. There is a huge menu and the food that the Thais eat looks good all the time. Unfortunately, I have really bad luck with my food and get ultra spicy chopped catfish. With each bite, I pull out about 5-7 fishbones from my mouth. Yeah...
